This car was 'factory stock', meaning it came 'souped-up' straight from the factory, all except the 'lakes pipes'. It probably had the engine balanced at the factory, meaning that all the pistons and piston rods were drilled to make them weigh exactly the same, and the crankshaft also drilled so that it weighed exactly the same on opposite sides of center, to spin perfectly balanced. Never was sure about this, but this is standard for racing engines and is a possibility. It was many years later that I just happened to catch a radio show out of Berkeley, California, where there were interviewed some people knowledgeable about Detroit marketing practices at that time, and they confirmed the entire Dicky theory, with all the relevant details.
