So we tidied it up and hung-out for a couple of weeks in the summertime. There were couple of pistols in a drawer and packages of Egyptian cigarettes in racks on the walls. Smitty propositioned some girls invited in but no takers. He propositioned some girls that came over by my house one time ice skating, but again to no avail. I was never the recipient of a Smitty girl's proposition and wouldn't dream of improper imposition myself. Well actually I was. He did proposition me once. But I turned him down because he was a big mouth.
Myself, Smitty and Christo the three of us, started a club and we called ourselves the Playboys and bought powder-puff blue jackets and had the Playboy (trademark) rabbit insignia sewn into the backs. Problem was we didn't go out with girls, as was pointed out by one un-sportsman like person, who claimed we Playboys were afraid of girls. Oh what a cheap shot because I know I was, but would never admit it. And from a mini-series all men are afraid of women.
Dicky knew and talked to everyone, whereas I shy talked only to my friends. So when we got caught siphoning gas up at the gas station, Dicky knew them and talked them out of reporting us, while Christo and I remained hidden in the shadows. Dickey knew a guy who knew the barber of the barber shop in town, who had a girl-friend and they were young and unmarried and so Dicky said the barber let this couple use his barber shop at night, with
no-lights on the floor and out of sight.
