It might be better for the novice to play someone only a little bit better than they until they are adequate at that level and then move on to someone a little bit better than that. Thus the student may encounter very average people who know a little bit more than they do, or who are adept at some ordinary specialty, such as cooking or herb healing. Some Gurus may not know they are gurus. Anybody can be a guru who gives to someone some information that is relevant to whatever problems that are of concern at the time. And of course it is incumbent upon the student to do for those who are in need of what they may have to offer as well.

Another aspect of the concept of the Guru, that may be applicable for the genuine student, is the use of the circumstances of reality as a teacher. This may involve the use of the phenomenon of Synchronicity and or Semiotic Language. The premise here is that the natural powers of Terrestrial Spirit will aid the individual in the solution to problems. The process can be thought of as to move from question to question. A question supposes an answer. The unconscious by itself, or the aid of Spiritual Manifestations may produce real and actual circumstance that illustrates or comments upon the problem, that either presents or aids in the solution.
