Sometimes when watching a game, outcomes were opposite of my wishes. I felt as if I was jinxing my team. And sometimes it was the opposite but for whatever - I felt I should not watch this game.
The 1981 49ers went on to win the Superbowl that year beating the Cincinnati Bengals who as I remember although I could be wrong was completely favored by the sports media who had never heard of the 49ers all being east coasters. And that began the Mission Street celebrations on the eve after the SuperBowl win, and I and who else would go down and stand curbside and watch all the cars drive by, horns blaring, cars full of mostly young adults, a lot of women, arms waving, some convertibles, a lot of 49er red, a lot of yelling. We did that for five years of five Superbowl wins.
