I suppose to some extent, I imitated the museum crowd. When in Rome. One thing I learned was how much space, these museumers liked to have around them. I was mostly at the museums in the day time, when not crowded and sometimes empty. You might sidle up to someone, standing reverently or bewilderingly before a painting and feel the space they would be comfortable. Maybe if one is out about-alone all the time, one looks for a camp-fire warmth in the woods, to stand next and feel its radiated felt, even if just for an instant; and how close can I get ?

But there were always tourists, and almost always all-tourists in the museums had time-traveler passports. I liked to dance with them. Still do, although in different placement these days. If they coming toward me, I might do a little dance, indicating which side do you wish to pass ? Most always get a reaction, maybe a smile even, maybe feminine demur if a woman. Character encounter. Just today, as she came-sudden around a corner and I froze, with my right knee up in the air, balanced on left foot like a Druid Priest. "How was my move ?" I asked. She said, "My mood is fine", as she motion-passed, giving me a surprised half-turn and what's-this look. I answered on her way to the door, "No my move, how did you like my move ?" She said, "Oh - yes it was good", half turning her head. I still got it.

TV back in the fifties was the big experiment in classless society. They pitched their products to everyone, whether one could afford them or not. It was sort of assumed everyone could afford them, if they really wanted so. There was no concept of niche markets.
