Rome is an absolutely beautiful place and I loved it. I wanted to stay there for a long time. I took my first bath instead of shower in 14 months. I had quit smoking cigarettes and I was free for the first time in three years. I did not know what I should do. I intended to go to London sometime that first week. But then I did not think that I would buy a motor cycle or any type motor vehicle. At that present time I thought that I should spend my time in the cities and hitch-hike from place to place.
Well so far so good. I was having a great time. But I did not know what would happen next nor how I would adapt or adjust.
So it turned out that the motorcycle dealer in England, at the last moment, wrote me that he didn't have any of the type machines that I desired. I had already shipped my belongings. I was then decided still to go to London and see what I could do and since that is where my belongings were. But by now I had decided not to buy a cycle. I did not think it perhaps worth the money. I would much rather have a cycle but alas, why be silly.
I spent maybe two weeks in Rome. I was planning on hitching to London, which was probably not a good idea, and Fidelity suggested I buy a Vespa motor scooter and do my tour on that, which is what I did, right out of what I thought was Vespa Headquarters, which seems like it was in or next an adjoining big park, not that far from where I was staying.
