Statements and Questions
Internal Analysis is a method for exploring past learning and conditioning and its effects upon thinking, acting and the sensations, feelings and emotions; by revisiting past events as memory recall, and analyzing the meaning of words and concepts as connected to specific context and circumstance of real past events. The individual makes decisions in everyday life based on definitions, which are statements of what one believes to be true, such that one will act on them. The statement represents the accepted definitions of entities and events, which act as momentum and inertia in which decisions are made automatically. There are two types of definitions, termed Common and Personal. Common Definitions are like those in dictionaries, which are necessary for mutual agreement between people. Personal definitions are those of one's own opinion, usually based upon personalized experience and thinking, which may be at odds with others. The question is defined as a disruption of the inertia and momentum of the static state of accepted definitions, which may need to be resolved before activity can proceed. The question also represents the absence of known states in future which are sure and certain.
Analytical Method
The purpose of the Analytical Method is for examining the meaning and definitions of words and concepts like time, truth, law, conditioning, emotion and nearly anything that one cares to examine. The object is to write definitions based upon one's own analysis, which may be either a Personal Definition or coincide with a Common type. One can check out dictionary definitions and especially the root origins such as Greek, Latin, Anglo-Saxon etc., to attempt to ascertain the basic origins and original meanings. Or one may not want to be influenced by already given definitions.
Question
First, a question is written down. Then the question is rephrased as a statement, with the conclusion left blank. What is a question?
What is a question?
A question is __________?
A question is : blank, where, when, up, down, around, far, words, points, pliable, bunch, burden, promise, why, which, end of story.
The method consists in as many associations or answers as come to mind, which is termed Free Association. Many of these associations may seem random and may or may not seemingly apply to the question. The train of thought leads to many places. One should follow it along and see where it goes. One does not necessarily try to stick to the subject, in the short run, but continually comes back to the original question, as deemed necessary, and which is written down as written memory. One might prefer a ballpoint pen as a stronger image, since there are no wrong answers and no erasing is necessary.
Free Association
is to let the memory freely associate anything that comes to mind, which pertains to a subject, which in this case is a question. One is trying to draw out from the memory as many associations as possible. These associations are anything that automatically comes to mind. The object to begin, is not to write a definition, but to elicit from the memory whatever associations pop up. One writes down these associations quickly as single words or short phrases. Every question and statement is valid, no matter what or how crazy and ridiculous it may seem. One just lets the memory go where it will. It may take practice.
The purpose of Free Association is to explore the question and not necessarily to force, as a conscious effort, an answer. An objective is to write definitions, but the true object is to learn as much as possible. Some questions can never be answered, and some take years, in which experience is necessary to produce a true knowledge of the problem. The purpose of writing as opposed to just thinking, is that trying to remember things discovered at the same time as one is trying to associate freely, and recall thoughts and feelings, hampers the free associative process. It is like stepping on the gas and putting on the brakes at the same time. By writing short, one to a few word questions and statements, one can continually move on, recalling what ever pops up. Also, one has a record if need be. A blank is what I cannot remember.
What is love?
Love is : Mom, dad, sister Sue, brother Bob, ice-cream, pumpkin pie, swimming, walking, (TV shows, media, movies, laptop) dog, cat, car, feel good, or summer vacation. Back rub, message, sleep late, sex, pizza, winning, thunder and lightning storms.
Then one can choose any of the associations selected and associate with that. Brother Bob is : Happy-go-lucky, fun, friendly, on-time, good guy. Fun is : love, candy, lucky in love, her. Her is : She don't like me. Will I see her? Why love her? Love is : Taste, smell of rain in summer, the way she looks, pumpkin pie or money.
As a further means illustrating the nature of a subject, one might pair its opposite, such as what is hate? Hate is : Evil, bullies, thieves, murderers, dislike, sickness, liars, fiends, dislike, anger. Anger is : swearing, cussing, hitting, yelling, why me, never works, I didn't do it, son of a which, I'll get even. Why me is : am I different, unlucky. Not me it's them. I didn't do it.
