Other exceptions not allowed, may be any engagement in homo sexual activity of any kind, or the absolute prohibition on the use of drugs. This is the belief, but when push comes to shove, not always the practice. The Ideologue is one who believes in absolute standards usually without exceptions regardless of circumstance.

This perspective is the extreme end of the either the Right or Left Wings, as compared to the majority in the middle, that may find these practices to be impractical in the heat of the real life battle. Right Wing imperatives tend to be authority, that supersedes social organization and government taking the form of Religious Authority, the family unit or individualism and self reliance, moral authority, Capitalism and free enterprise or private fiefdoms. Left Wing standards tend to bolster social organization, Government, law, civil confederation, co-operative enterprises, social programs or Government unification, regulation and standards. Problems arise for the Ideologue, when circumstances of reality conflict and contradict imperatives, standards, ideals and principles. The authority is unassailable for instance in the case of God.

Thus the Ideologue can ignore reality as in the case of planetary warming. The Ideologue can refuse to engage in discussion and argument, with those of differing points of view or who reflect real conflicting circumstance, as any good right wing talk show host. The Ideologue can attack those with opposing views without ever discussing the real issues, as do ideological politicians everyday of the week. The Ideologue can continually change the subject. But if the Ideologue is to face contradiction and conflict head on, then the only thing that can be done, is to change the premises, arguments or evidence, since the conclusion and authority is set in stone.
