The Cult of Personality is utilized for a number of political purposes. Personalities are used to promote political ideas, individuals, parties and party platforms. Cult personalities, as for instance movie stars, sometimes become politicians, and politicians themselves may adopt the characteristics of personality personification. The Cult of Personality is also used as a means of Propaganda and information bias, by those that control the agencies of media dispensation. This may be accomplished by the polarization of the Cult of Personality, into the glorified and villainous persona.

The glorified persona represents the values, goals and ends of the Metaphysical Ideal, as already indicated in the foregoing material, in conjunction with the cultural, political and religious power structure, and media operators, which in general reflects the perspectives of their own self-interests, and of that from whence they are granted their entitlement to operate. The vilified persona as a concept, represents ideas and ideals which are antithetical to the existing power structure. Because this structure does not want a discussion of content critical of itself, and because it does not want it known that there is a constituency for such criticism, an individual, usually a leader, is selected for vilification by character and personality assassination. Attention to content is deflected and all dialog is concentrated upon the personality and history of the villain who is associated with all evil.

The degree to which content is discussed at all, is relative to the degree to which this content is perceived as a threat to the establishment. The constituency for such criticism of the power structure, which may be a political association or party, is never mentioned, or if it is, these adherents are portrayed as dupes of the powerful and duplicitous leader.
