Where private elitist interests and capitalist economics are allowed and encouraged, the government by taxing the rich and subsidizing the poor, and by perhaps owning outright the industries which produce the elements necessary to all, as infrastructure, utilities, education, child care, or health, the affect is to some extent mitigate the division between rich and poor.

The Left Wing may also be considered to include those which have unorthodox perspectives and lifestyles such as Bohemians, artists or same sex unions, which are in opposition to the hierarchical models of Elitist Authoritative Dictates. The propensity of many of these groups, is to view government as ideally the protector of such differences. Also included in this category may be racial, ethnic or gender minorities, who look to the government for recognition and equal rights.

Both the Left and Right Wings are the products of the philosophy and persuasion of Progressive Materialism, and thus both are progressive, wherein the Dyadic Authoritative Comparative is applicable to the dynamic of the polarity.

The Dyadic Authoritative Comparative

is a scale of comparison between opposite poles, as an inferior/superior dichotomy of good/bad, high/low or least/most, rich/poor, low class, high class etc., with a scale of value in between. Those individuals of the spectrum of the Left Wing may originate from, tend to identify with, or sympathize with the lower end of the scale. In political terms this means the lower social classes.
