Which was to say so to speak, I am more than what I look and can afford. This seemed to be a class place, a certain set, which for me coming from outside, as great plains America, army, European tour thus far, was like landing on an alien planet. These people were all the same, planetary pilgrim's-way.

This was it, the place to be. We had a good dinner, something traditionally English, or not I shouldn't speculate, since I have not the slightest recall. Think there were white table cloths draped on small wooden tables, a dozen in the room maybe. We had a third row center seat and assume first come first served, couples primarily, but maybe with also one friend of either sex, very close, tight and intimate. So who should I see two rows over and against a wall, near a small lattice window ? It was the customs guy who had questioned me on the ferry from France to Dover about my carrier finances. He was sideways against the wall on his left, at a two-seat table alone. So here the tables were turned - such a fluke. I was now customs inspector inspecting the customs. We may have nodded, and chances are we probably did.

I was now starting to think in terms of class. London - Harrow, Hammersham Place, Lampton Park, Scotchderby, Middlesex Wharf and Anywas. Of course in all my extensive-already city street walking, I liked mostly the park sections of any-town. It was comfortable, and you were a stranger who was not out of place, any-a-visitor and such, hard to tell who was who. There might be a lot of marble or marble-like structural separating-geometry, of raised border segregating grass and shrubbery from walkway and whatnot.
