He said my packages had gone from Athens to London to DC to Bonn then Paris, and on to South America and then back to DC and back to London and then to Madrid. Wow ! The boxes were pretty banged up and ripped a little, but everything was ship-shape. My name was the same as the US treasury secretary who was in Greece when I mailed my packages which were put on his plane.

I could not carry it all so I was going to leave some of it with Allison. I intended to tour England sometime, so when I would go back to London, I would retrieve it and send what I could not carry home to Illinois. We left Madrid on a Wednesday putting my scooter in the back of her boy friend's van. We made Pamplona the first day by way of Algora, Soria, and Logrono. Camped on a mountain near Danchoria the frontier. Crossed the frontier the following day and made La Rochelle by way of Bayonne, Bordeaux and Rochefort. From La Rochelle we made Cherbourg. This morning I put Allison on the ferry to South Hampton and went to Paris by way of Caen, Listeux, and Mantes. Her boyfriend would meet her at South Hampton, England and drive her to London.

At some point coming north to Paris I met a woman in a store. She was French, blond, a bit plump, middle to late twenties, bubbly as anything, and she liked me and we talked, and especially she did. She invited me to her house where she lived with her husband and small child, and I ended up staying there for a few days at her insistence. She was a wonderful person.
