In terms of Religion, the source of worth and consequence are extra mundane beings such as God, that represents the source and epitome of significance and validity. Access to this merit in general must take place through the church, wherein the form of the sanctity of one's existence is eternal life. The individual is usually required to accept mandates of the church and to perform purification and redemption rites, and to correspond conduct to specific mandates.

Another means of the obtainment of consequence is through the Emotions by the vehicle of love. Being loved grants one the worth of another. Being loved by God grants worth equivalent to the value of God which is all worthiness. Loving others is granting worth upon others and in the act of loving and granting worth one obtains worth. The act of loving oneself is the granting of worth to the self. The impetus for the individual's actions may be intellectual constructs not based upon inherent conditions which are to be found within the sensory environment, such as would cause natural emotional responses. Positive emotions may be reserved for that which conforms to intellectual models. On the emotional side, prohibitions upon the misuse and ill-treatment of things are derived from feelings for those things, as what is loved must treated with care and preserved. However emotional hatreds produce the same conditions for exploitation as the absence of prohibitions, and often act as motivation for the abuse of things and people.

Consequence may be obtained albeit artificially, by the vicarious identification with sources thought to be of greater consequence such as hero figures, superstars or the rich and famous. But the primary means of obtaining Consequence is by the accumulation physical assets such as property, talent, education, power, influence, or fame and fortune.
