I made a curse with sticks. Meanwhile at some distance down by the river was a camp cafe and jukebox. Some guy went down there and played the Rolling Stones, 'Jumping Jack Flash', which could be heard at a distance but not all that loud. I assumed it was for me. The cat lady announced they were going for a hike, with her husband, and I think a couple of other people. About fifteen minutes later an intense storm came, with first really strong winds. We had to run around grabbing everything up, including the baby and throw it all in the tent, including ourselves. Then the rain came and it poured cats and dogs. Soon it was gone and the sun came out. A little later the catty woman with her friends came back. She said to them, "Weren't we so lucky we just happened to be in the ranger station when the rain came", like she knew of some connection. So it was all about the probability of correlation. Later that evening, with the baby on my back, I went up onto a cliff where many of the other campers were to watch the sunset. The cat lady was there and we were all friends.
If one started with the premise that everyone is different, which I am certain that I did, then the study of human nature would be endless. At some point I found a commonality which would simplify the study greatly. The commonality was the objective. I found that people with common objectives would use a common logic, as all the many ways to a single destination, or all roads lead to Rome. So the power of belief would enable me to be anybody, and the concept of the common objective would allow me to follow the logic of specific characters.
