Out of the blue on some jaunt let's say I noticed a hat that is red. Down at the corner a red light is red. Red means stop. The red hat stopped me in my tracks. Hat is a signal. Look for other hats. See man with hat, observe his appearance character, and another and so on. After a time, generalize the commonalities of all the hat people seen. Are they legitimate? Are they actors? Are they like clowns in a circus? Kings wear crowns. "Crown of Creation". Queens wear more hats than kings. The male and female hat. I was wearing a hat. As an observer of hats, I now began observing myself. Was I a clown? Was I an actor? Was I legit? Was I a king ? A sequence of sighted similar hats worn by different people were as if the same person sighted in different places would make a continuous plot.

I really didn't know what or who I wanted to be because being outside, there were too many choices. And besides they all looked so pedestrian. But there I am and I have to be somebody. Well you are never going to be where, so what are you going to do ? Can't be two places at once.

Since these patterns of sequence were a swamp and could go on unendingly, I used them for very short periods of time, from a few minutes to a few hours. I did not extend them for very long soon forgetting them, so as to not create new lexicons, which would again predefine random occurrence, and where definition and meaning would pre-exist and determine my observation and interpretation of it. This method was to let objects define themselves, as what came into my head by random observation and or thought association.
