Some little time after my episode, I could have become an official crazy person
possibly if I passed the test. Someone I knew
knew a psychiatrist and said it would be likely I could get on SSI or Supplemental Security Income for crazy people. The offer might have been tempting and all I had to do was tell the truth. However I rejected it. I did not want to shackle myself with a role which would force me to defend and live certain states of consciousness as one who is crazy. I remember the first six months of my episode were positive all joy and light. The second sixmonths got dark, shaded by paranoia as the assumption of, I was so great I must have enemies.
Ford went back to Conneticut for whatever reason. Probably summer visit. He took his dog Shoes. For some reason he sent Shoes back early by herself and he was not on the plane. I was to go out to the SF Airport and pick up Shoes which I did. I went to the airline people behind on the counter and told them I was to pick up a dog on flight such and such. Oh the woman was rude. She said they don't allow unaccompanied dogs on flights. I said this is an exception. Please look. Now I was dressed, looked and was a hippie with long hair beard and eccentric dress. She treated me awful. No one would do anything. They treated me like crap. I looked around the airport and then went home.
Ford came back a few days later and I told him the story. At some point Ford got on the phone to his father. Ford checked with the airport - no dog. Ford's father kept calling the house that week. Ford said his father had talked to the president of the airlines.
