I had nothing but bad luck in Norway. Left Oslo on Tuesday for Bergen. The weather was great in Oslo and held all the way to Bergen. The country was very beautiful. I arrived in Bergen on Wednesday evening. It rained all night. Thursday was not too bad. A girl from some kind of lost and found agency or hall of records took me to the house my grandfather was born. We talked to the man who had lived in the house the last fifty years. It was a two story modest stone affair on a steep hillside on a street overlooking the city of Bergen. Was that not nice of her ?

Bergen was probably a fishing village at one time and I would assume still does a fair amount. Personally I love their sardines. My favorite is King Oscar Tiny Tot sardines in olive oil, or Crown Prince Brisling and all my life, I would eat a can every now and then, when my body felt the urge. Trouble is they are very expensive.

Friday the weather was dreary. I saw a little of Bergen. Rain and more rain. Bergen is a nice city but the weather is too awful. Well it was raining when I met a girl from West Berlin and we walked in the rain last night. My feet got absolutely wet. They had been wet since the Friday before until Monday.

I was in Bergen and had a city campsite. It was on a knoll away from the rest of the campers, in a wooded island, moted by a camp road around it. The girl from West Germany was travelling with her brother and his friend with a car.
