I would go to this store three times a week after my lake walk and each time she was there. I started going to her line every time. I was in love with her. Found out she was thirty-four years old, had three kids, and was separated from her husband. She was an assistant manager but at this store managers have to check as well. She said she was a Catholic and I said I was a Pagan. She said, "... so long as one believes in something". She told me to come to her line. I said I would every time. Each visit I would try to learn something. In the beginning she didn't look too good. Said she had an infection. She was working forty hours a week, taking fifteen units in college and raising three kids. Not sleeping much. I asked her if I could send her information by email, and she gave me her email address. She wanted help with her history class. Sent her information on health matters and history. She seemed to do seventeen things at once, check, talk to the customers in both English and Spanish, talk to me, talk on the intercom, talk to other employees who were going on or off break, or who had questions of one kind or another. She was amazing and I told everybody so. I had only a few minutes each time to flirt with her.
Cheryl is not my type at all. She is short and I like tall. She is fast and like slow and laid back. She is maybe too feminine and I like assertive, but actually never
seeing her independent from the work context, don't know for sure. She is Latin, English her second language, but speaks like a native. She has dark shoulder length hair, sometimes down and sometimes in a bun, a Spanish facial appearance, dark liquid eyes and sometimes wears glasses and sometimes contacts. She has a good figure, slightly plump at the waist. I was attracted to something about her, an energy maybe. Maybe I learned what I was looking for, and it was not intellectual. She was amazing. She could talk to two people at the same time, one in English and one in Spanish, while punching keys and scanning products and fast as anything. At another point she said she was 37. She was getting closer to my age.
Maybe the second week flirting with her, I would first start my shopping in the produce section of the store where the entrance door was, the setup a large horse shoe configuration. Started talking to a couple of the produce guys. I talk to everybody. They mentioned girls and I said I was flirting with Cheryl. One of them said that Cheryl is his wife. Well I said, you don't have to worry about me. I am near seventy, I have no money, can't be all that physical, can't be around loud noise, have Fiber Myalgia and smoke. He wanted to know if I had a car, where I lived, what I did. I gave him the whole run down as I am not shy about my personals. He said he would share her with me, which seemed a bit suspicious. At any rate I finished my shopping and went to Cheryl's line. I says, "I was just talking to your husband". "My husband", she says, "where?" "Over in produce", I said, "A short heavyset guy". "He is not my husband, he is a family friend." Ut-oh - I thought, he is going to spill the beans and that will be that. Figured she took me to be in my early fifties. Have asked many dozens of people to guess my age. The vast majority guess it to be around fifty-three. She said she didn't have a husband, that they were separated. I said I was separated. She said she had a good buddy named Eric, but no husband. She said I had met Eric. I remembered later I had met a guy in line. She seemed very familiar with him. Thought at the time that that guy might be her husband.
The very next visit after the produce confession I thought she seemed cold. She had at another time told me her little one was afraid of earthquakes. I said probably from the pictures of Fukushima, Japan. I now told her to tell her little one that the damage was not from the earthquake but from the Tsunami. Continuing I said that I thought I felt an earthquake in the middle of the night before. She said she had felt one too, but it was in the daytime. I took her to mean that she had talked to her friend in produce, and he had told he all about me. The jig was up, and she didn't seem as warm as before.
