Back to the lake just after watching the Peregrine Falcon devour the gopher, it was a great morning, had a lot of conversations. Talked to the Canadian couple for a short while, Lil and Pauly - both absolutely wonderful people near eighty years old. He doesn't talk much and doesn't stop but just slows. I usually talk to her for from five to twenty minutes. She is a lovely person. She loves to hear of all my travails.

Then down the walk aways met Mrs. Brazil. Hadn't seen her in a long time. Ricardo my former best friend at the lake and I used to talk to her every now and then and compete in flirting with her. She asked me how Ricardo was? I replied haltingly, he died about nine months ago. She hadn't heard. I said he died of cancer. She said she knew he had cancer. I said, "he told you? - he didn't tell me". She said he had told her. "Never told me. Always said it was a botched operation and the pain killers." She said he didn't tell me because I wasn't Christian. Now that's the first I heard of that. She has a heavy Spanish accent and speaks a mile a minute, so I didn't understand everything she said and didn't catch the rational. Have to ask her if I see her again. She said she prayed for him. I said he died of pancreatic cancer and there is no cure.

She has been very happily married since she was sixteen. She is now near forty, very slim, olive complected with a few freckles, dark medium length hair, good looking and a personality to die for. One could fall in love with her in about ten minutes. She said, "Ricardo said you weren't a Christian. What are you?". I said I am a Pagan. She said what's that? I said heaven is right here and now as everything I am looking at. I am looking at you and you are an angel. I love what I am looking at and I love you. She said no, no, it's up there and she pointed animately to the sky. Found out she has an amazing characteristic. She has won on the order of thirty thousand dollars on various games of chance involving number games. She seems to have the ability to divine numbers that will win through dreams and intuition. Of course she added the caveat that she can only win when she really needs the money.

Laying on my bed one evening right in this period of time, I was either working my laptop, watching TV or listening to music, and heard what sounded like footsteps on the roof. The heaviest steps I ever heard. Raccoons have never made that much noise. Thought it must be somebody and started to get up. Then a gorgeous Peacock flew onto the shed out back. Stayed for a few minutes then flew back onto the roof. Must be an escaped bird. Well I thought of course that it must be a sign for a beautiful woman. Later that week the same thing happened but this time it was turkey. There are lots of wild turkeys around here. They can fly so they can roost in trees and stay safe from the Coyotes that seem to have a giant circuit in the park lands just out back, swinging through here once or twice a month. Have had the turkeys in the yard and they are out back every so often. Never though, had I seen a turkey do exactly as the Peacock did - walk on my roof. That sort of washes out my sign. The next week the Peacock came back again, and since it is becoming a regular. It is using my roof as a route to the park out back. Of all the houses why me I don't know. But such a tall and big beautiful bird I don't care . It comes usually in the evening about an hour before dark. So there still is the possibility that it is a sign.
