Because the agenda both conscious and unconscious is so complicated, including numerous studies, as questions and statements concerning various and sundry fields of inquiry, like politics, religion, history, fame, characterization, art, psychology, power, behavior, morals, race, war and peace and so-on, the conscious one-self cannot begin to handle it all. Any given present instance may apply to any of these inquiries. The Berkeley woman was giving me what I wanted: self-sexual politics, but I would not admit/submit. In this case the application of associational correspondents, to the present sensory experience, might best be generated from the unconscious all-self, and especially in specific present instances when out and about, which required instantaneous sensory response and decision making. In this case the decision may have been made by an unconscious agenda, or I was just a coward.
It was a big shindig at the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, some probably painting exhibition. I think I went with Ford and whoever else. I saw the woman from Berkeley in one of the exhibition rooms. We ran into each other and she was with her invisibles. I was not suppose to be there. This was above my class station. She was immediately embarrassed because I said hello, just to be mean and assuage my hurt pride. She made of it as light as she could - "oh - where do I know you from" ? Good for her friends but not for me. I knew I had her caught in her backstage limelight, and she knew it also. It was good enough for me, so I let her off with some perfunctories, and did not give the game away.
After all I had to appreciate the offer on a deeper level. Being honest, I had no complaint, accept that I could not have accepted her offer.
