At this time I was walking over to Bud's Ice Cream at Twenty-fourth and Castro from north-side Bernal Heights, on weekday afternoons to maybe get a Sunday. It was a long-walk over and back. Turns out Melissa rented an apartment right around the corner from Bud's. I visited her once there. The interesting thing was, she had there a black wood-chair, identical to one I had in my apartment accept it had arms. Of course I sat in it. The thinking was, and I don't think it was original with me, maybe even she said it, "If he can walk to Bud's he can walk over to visit me". I had no car.

Is this poetry? I was smoking weed then, may have been, and I got on this trip that I should be what women-wanted, as quoting from the Seinfeld series, George Costanza: "Women don't want to see-need. They want a take-charge guy. A colonel, a kaiser, a czar." So one afternoon, I started giving her orders; and she did not take to my theatrics. And she bit me. It continued down into the shop where another woman was working, no doubt a woman's liber-type; and she looked utterly horrified; and never came back. Nor did Melissa for that matter.

Agia if I had my druthers, would have been my Ma'am. She was everything I wanted physically and mentally, but she liked what I liked south-sex; so it couldn't happen. She was Taurus-practical; no non-sense, no-sense of class distinction.

Agia had a husband Edwardo and although she thought we could do a thing she rather decided she said, that her husband and I would make good friends and we did become. They took me in his VW van, out to the country on excursions, to visit friends now and then. A number of times we visited single-woman.
