So it is Labor Day and I do my walk as usual. Can't stay home alone three days
in a row. Was not surprised to see Mrs. Brazil first thing. I think she waylaid
me. She was with her husband so I got to meet him. He is a really sweet guy -
like her. To be honest, I told them about the incident, in which I told the guy
I wanted to flirt with his wife, since he, Mrs. Brazil and that event were connected. However I did not tell them of the connection, not that I wouldn't
because I would; just that this was not the time nor the place; I don't know him
well enough. But I am sure he would be cool with it.
The interesting thing of the day was a pit bull swimming in the lake. It had been foggy and cold, but now the sun was beginning to shine through. The lake was a perfect calm of reflective water. I was sitting on a bench making some notes about a concept I was calling 'Circumstantial Assessment'. Not a new idea but perhaps never really formalized. There seemed to be some excitement along the shore, with the people out on this Labor Day, which was a mix of regulars who were there mostly as an exercise, and holiday strollers who dawdled along.
People seemed to be interested in something in the lake, which I could not spot immediately. Then I saw a Pitbull swimming across the lake, a dog's head, and tail swishing was mostly all that could be seen.
Strictly against the law. But one could see that the owner did not have much choice in the matter, as he was on the shore and the dog would not come in. You could see it loved swimming and seemed oblivious to all else. I went further along and the pit was now swimming back the way she had come. I talked to the owner and he said it was a she, and he could do nothing with her, so in love was the dog with the water. It was a real curiosity and excitement for the holiday walkers and the kids. I walked on. I saw a maintenance truck coming down the walk, so I again sat on a bench to be out the way. He pulled over next to the lake and a woman came complaining to the maintenance guy, that it was against the law for the dog to be swimming. Said she had confronted the owner, and he meaning the maintenance guy, should do something about it. She went back the other way and I went over to him and said. "She is an idiot, there is nothing the guy can do. The dog won't come out of the water". He did not reply.
I had walked another quarter mile. I turned behind me and saw the idiot
gaining on me. She is an American woman and she was with an older woman who I took to be her mother. As she went by me I heard her say "those bad ones". I was thinking this is a woman-dom, and then they encountered a large family with a number of kids coming our way. She began to direct traffic. Next thing I know a large man probably in his middle or late twenties, who was abreast of me, turned and shouted at the woman, "Shut your mouth. You don't be telling my son what to do". Now this guy was really angry and puffed, no doubt about it. I took a few steps to him and said, "She is an idiot, don't pay any attention to her". He did not reply. Meanwhile the woman shouted something back and kept going on her merry way.
A somewhat Synchronistic playact of my concept. This woman has no ability of circumstantial assessment. She is so dumb she is dangerous. Everything is rules with her. Reality is suppose to conform to the rules as she knows them. And she is going to make sure that they do. How many people has she in one way or another made to feel troubled, uncomfortable, perhaps guilty and angry this morning, and she breezes along oblivious to the emotional pillage trailing in her wake? She is not smart enough to assess circumstance for what it is. However she can memorize rules. How hard is that? And she needs no understanding is the best part. There is only her, not smart enough to get along with anybody. So she gets to have it her way - oblivious.
