One can imagine themselves as anybody, and in mind's-eye pretend that they are always on stage and everyone is watching them, even though the opposite may be true. Associative Identities are placed between the Thinking-I and Metaphysical-I. Action and Associative Identities may be operated simultaneously as walking and
day-dreaming at the same time.
On the horizontal plane are the various Identities. Some people are very limited in the number of Identities they possess and some may have a very many. One can say the more talents one has the more Identities they may have such as painter, musician, architect and cook. However more than one Identity is frowned on and often called multiple personality disorder, even though everyone operates from various Identities in every instance.
Another way to look at the concept of various Identities would be
the dynamic of Right and Left Brain hemisphere or orientation, which by scientific studies have shown two distinct functions.
LEFT BRAIN:
Logic, Sequence, Rationality, Analytical, Objectivity, the Part and Progressive
RIGHT BRAIN:
Random, Intuitive, Holistic, Synthesizing, Subjective, Whole and Conservative
The Left Brain function in general encompasses linear reasoning and language functions, such as grammar and vocabulary. Left-brain dominated people tend to be more logical and analytical in their thinking, and usually excel at mathematics and word skills. As a generalization it could be said the Left Brain represents the
attributes contributing to the Progressive Identity especially as the necessity to accomplish goals and objectives and to make changes.
The Left Brain function could be said to be intellectually oriented.
The Right Brain function tends more to imagination, intuitiveness, patterns, shapes and sizes, and is associated with artistic ability like
writing, poetry, painting or singing.
